Delete
Physical removal of data or files from the hard disk.
Depth of drive in
The aliquoter system calculates the depth of drive in according to the
total pipetting volume and the tube diameter.
Dilutor
Pump and dosing unit of the fluid system.
Dilutor syringe
Glass cylinder on the dilutor with a defined maximum dosage volume.
Dispense position
Position of the pipetting unit when fluid is dispensed.
Dispense syringe

Disposable tip carrier
Plastic tray containing 96 disposable tips.
Download
Transfer of data from another system.
Editor
Component of operating system used for processing texts
(e.g. programs, lists).
Encoder
Sensor to control the stepper motor steps and to detect stepper motor
errors.
EPROM
The information contained in an EPROM can be erased only under
certain conditions.
Error tubes
Tubes which cannot be processed due to an error
Ethernet connection
Network connection
File
Collection of related data in a compatible format.
File name
Name of a file.
Fluid system
System to transfer the fluids.
Foreground program
A program that runs in the foreground, visibly and with interaction
from the user.
General parameters
User and system-specific data.
Hard disk
Digital data carrier for data storage.
Hard disk specifications
Configuration data of the hard disk (cylinders, heads, sectors).
Help mask
Window on screen to help the operator solve problems that might
occur.
Hitachi 5pos racks
A sample carrier device that holds up to five sample tubes. The rack
enables easy transportation to analytical instruments.
Host
An external information system of higher level which provides
services or a connection to a wider network.
Hot key
A key or certain combinations of keys, by means of which particular
programs or commands can be executed.

Initialization
The process that occurs after initially starting a work cycle, during
which the instrument prepares itself for operation.
Initialization position
Position of the individual axes during their initialization.
Input field
Field on the screen allowing data entry by the operator via the
keyboard.
Input module
Part of the rack module that supplies the primary samples to a
distribution process.
IO card
Input/output card. Interface between the computer and external
devices.
