Loading the Stage
To load the reagent racks
The reagent racks hold the processing cartridges and the reagent trays needed for the defined order. The
processing cartridges and reagent trays are hardware-coded to guide correct positioning:
The Stage sub-tab displays the reagent racks according to the selected purification protocol with the
Relevant number and position of processing cartridges
Number and label of the reagent trays
Position of the reagent trays in the reagent racks
In the shaking section of the bottle rack, pull back the clip of the rearmost bottle holder (position 1) and
insert the first MGP bottle.
Press the bottle firmly into the holder until the clip slips over the bottle shoulder.
Insert a second MGP bottle in position 2 of the bottle rack according to the Stage sub-tab in the same
way.
Insert the bottle with the DNase solution into position 5 of the bottle rack.
Ensure that the clips fix the bottle rims completely and that the barcode labels of all bottles faces left so
that they can be read by the barcode reader during the resource check.
Especially if you use the same MGP bottles during subsequent runs, the bottles can rotate during
the shaking process, so that the barcode may no longer be readable for the barcode reader.
Insert the bottle rack back into the stage.
Press the bottle rack into the stage until its outline is displayed in blue on the Stage sub-tab.
Processing cartridge The bottom left frame has a rectangular cut that fits onto an elevation in the
relevant rack position.
Reagent tray A groove in the bottom matches a tongue at the correct position in the re-
agent rack.
Pull the right reagent rack all the way out of the stage.
Place a processing cartridge in position 1 of the right reagent rack.
Remove the blue lid from reagent tray 2.
Do not remove the foil from the reagent containers.
Place reagent tray 2 in position 2 of the reagent rack as recommended on the Stage sub-tab.
Dispose of damaged reagent trays, e.g., if a reagent container has fallen out or is missing.
Only bottles and trays of the same kit lot can be used in the same purification run.
After the first use the bottles and trays are defined as a reagent set and have to be used together
in subsequent runs.
Remove the blue lid from the reagent tray 1 and place it in position 3 of the reagent rack.
