Loading the Stage
To load the tip rack
The tip rack provides the necessary tips packed in tip trays for a volume transfer.
To load the waste rack
Enter the barcode of the LightCycler
®
480 Multiwell Plate 96 twice.
The ID of a custom plate has to be unique to be able to perform the volume transfer procedure.
Click OK to confirm the barcode. The dialog box closes, the barcode is copied into the Rack Position 3
field, and position 3 of the purification rack is displayed in green.
Pull the tip rack all the way out of the stage.
Place one tip tray in the tip rack as recommended on the Stage sub-tab of the MagNA Pure 96 Soft-
ware.
Ensure that all tips stand parallel and in one plane.
Ensure that the barcode label faces left so that it can be read by the barcode reader during the resource
check.
You do not need to remove a partially used tip tray from the tip rack. It is a common scenario to
load the tip rack with full tip trays and partially used ones from former runs.
Insert the tip rack back into the stage.
Press the tip rack into the stage until its outline is displayed in blue on the Stage sub-tab.
Pull the waste rack all the way out of the stage.
Ensure that the waste cover is clean and placed in position 1 of the waste rack. For more information on
cleaning the waste cover, see section To clean the waste cover.
Place three empty tip trays in the waste rack.
When using empty tip trays with barcodes ensure that these barcodes are facing the right side of
the waste rack.
Insert the waste rack back into the stage.
Press the waste rack into the stage until its outline is displayed in blue on the Stage sub-tab.
Close the load flap.
