Overview

The ROCKSOLAR Nomad (RS650) is a portable power station designed for various applications, including RVs, mobile homes, boats, vanlife, and off-grid sustainability, as well as for power outages and emergencies. It features a built-in Lithium-ion Polymer battery, providing a dependable power solution.

Function Description:

The Nomad (RS650) serves as a multi-function portable power station, offering AC, DC, and USB outputs to power a wide range of electronic devices and appliances. It includes a built-in Pure Sine Wave inverter, which produces an output identical to that of a standard AC wall plug, making it safe for most AC electric devices under 300 watts. The unit is intended for short-term and emergency use and is not a replacement for long-term alternating current.

Usage Features:

  • DC12V Appliances: Devices can be plugged into the DC output port. Users should confirm that their 12V appliance supports a 5.5mm/2.1mm DC header interface. An adapter may be necessary for compatibility. The DC output voltage ranges between 9V~12.6V and drops with battery capacity.
  • AC Appliances: Connect the power cable of an electrical appliance to the AC outlet, then switch on the power button. The unit will provide power to appliances up to 400W (continuous) / 600W (max). Users must verify that the product's AC specifications (voltage and frequency) match their appliance's requirements to prevent malfunction. The AC port should be turned off when not in use to conserve power.
  • USB Digital Appliances: Connect standard USB cables to the USB output ports. USB output is plug-and-play. If power is not automatically supplied, press the "Batt. Check /USB Out" button or the AC power output button. The AC power output button should be switched off when USB devices are fully charged to save power.
  • Charging the Unit:
    • AC Wall Charger: Use the included AC Wall Charger. Blue LED battery indicators will blink during charging and remain solid when fully charged.
    • Solar Panel: Place a solar panel in direct sunlight and plug its output into the unit's input. Blue LED battery indicators will light up and blink during charging, becoming solid when fully charged. The input charging range is 12.5-24V, up to 6.0A max.
    • Car Cigarette Lighter Adapter: Use the included car charger and plug it into a 12V cigarette lighter (car port). Charging is only available when the car engine is on to prevent car battery power loss.
  • LED Light Indicator: Five LED indicators show the charge level: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% capacity. During charging, indicators blink at approximately 1-second intervals, and remain solid when fully charged.
  • Protection Mode:
    • Short-circuit/Overpower Protection (DC): If the DC output is short-circuited or overpowered (load surge current >15A or surge power >150W), the unit will shut down. To recover, clear the problem and recharge the unit.
    • Short-circuit/Overpower Protection (AC): If the AC output is short-circuited or overpowered (load power >600W), the unit will shut down. To recover, unplug the device and the AC output will automatically recover. For devices with high surge power (e.g., refrigerators, ice makers, laser printers), consult the device manufacturer for information on surge protectors.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Safety:
    • Avoid short-circuiting by keeping the unit away from metal objects.
    • Do not heat, dispose of in fire/water, or expose to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
    • Keep away from high humidity and dusty places.
    • Do not disassemble or reassemble the unit.
    • Avoid dropping, placing heavy objects on, or strong impact to the unit.
    • Do not cover the device with towels, clothing, or other items.
    • Use caution when handling if the unit becomes hot during charging (which is normal).
    • Do not overcharge the unit. Disconnect when fully charged.
    • Use the unit properly to avoid electronic shock.
  • Battery Life Extension: To extend the life of the lithium battery, it is recommended to charge the unit within the first 3 months of purchase and then at least every 6 months.
  • Storage: If not used for a long time, disconnect the cable and store the unit in a dust-free environment.
  • Cold Weather Usage: In sub-zero conditions, keep the unit in an insulated cooler and connected to a power source (like solar panels) to maintain optimal battery capacity, as cold temperatures can affect performance.
  • Recycling: Return used electronic products, batteries, and packaging materials to dedicated e-waste collection points in accordance with e-waste regulations. The built-in battery should not be treated as household garbage.
  • Internal Battery: The device has an internal, non-removable, rechargeable battery. Do not attempt to remove it. The battery can be charged and discharged over 500 times but will eventually wear out.
  • Warranty: ROCKSOLAR LLC provides a non-transferable 24-month warranty to the original consumer purchaser against defects in workmanship and material under normal consumer use. The warranty period starts from the purchase date, requiring a sales receipt or other proof. The battery cell warranty applies if fully charged within seven days of purchase and every 6 months thereafter.
