Ungrounded Power Configurations
Ungrounded power configurations are allowed, but you must jumper across a
120 kΩ resistor (internal to the IAM module) to prevent high electrostatic
build-up. The ungrounded power configuration (shown below) does not provide
a neutral ground point. The IAM module has a ground jumper set for grounded
power distribution (default configuration).
Figure 39 - Ungrounded Power Configuration
Refer to Power Wiring Examples beginning on page 201 for input power
interconnect diagrams with and without the LIM module.
IMPORTANT
If you determine that you have ungrounded or high-impedance grounded
power distribution in your facility, you need to move the default jumper
(configured for grounded power) to the ungrounded power position to
prevent electrostatic buildup inside the IAM module.
Refer to Setting the Ground Jumper in Ungrounded Power Configurations
on page 83
for more information.

ATTENTION: Ungrounded systems do not reference each phase potential
to a power distribution ground. This can result in an unknown potential to
earth ground.
