DF Antennas
The R&S DDF205 can operate as a normal recever and use conventional
antennas. However for the direction finder function to measure meaningful
bearing data it is required to install a DF antenna, e.g. R&S ADD197, to the
antenna port X13.
DF
antennas require a control signal. For this purpose the control input of the
DF antenna needs to be connected to the X2 ANTENNA DF connector on the
rear panel.
Check the following settings under the Receiver and Antenna submenu to ensure
the default settings are in place.
1.
Press the SETUP key to open the Setup Menu.
2. Select the "Receiver" softkey.
3. The Receiver Configuration dialog box will appear. Check that "RF Mode" =
Normal, "Reference Mode" = Internal. Refer to the R&S DDF205 Operating
Manual for the detailed description of this dialog box.
4. Press the ESC key to exit the dialog box and return to the Setup Menu.
5. Select the "Antenna" softkey.
6. The Antenna Control dialog box will open.
7. The "Automatic Control" checkbox is checked by default. When it is unchecked,
the antenna settings will be available for manual configuration. The Operating
