Serial Interface Configuration

INTERFACE
The COM INTERFACE softkey activates the COM INTERFACE table for
entry of the serial interface parameters.
The following parameters can be configured in the table:
Baud rate data transmission rate
Bits number of data bits
Parity bit parity check
Stop bits number of stop bits
HW-Handshake hardware handshake protocol
SW-Handshake software handshake protocol
Owner assignment to the measuring instrument or computer

Baud – Data transmission rate
The R&S ESCI supports baud rates between 110 and 19200 baud. The
default setting is 9600 baud.

Bits – Number of data bits per word
For the transmission of text without special characters, 7 bits are adequate.
For binary data as well as for text with special characters, 8 bits must be
selected (default setting).
