Meas. type Symbol Description Formula, graphic
Crest factor Crest The crest factor is also known as peak-to-average
ratio. It is the maximum value divided by the RMS
value of the displayed waveform.
Pos. Overshoot P.OS Overshoot of a square wave after a rising edge. It is
calculated from measurement values High, local
Max and Amplitude.
Neg. Overshoot N.OS Overshoot of a square wave after a falling edge. It is
calculated from measurement values Low, local Min
and Amplitude.
9.2.4.3 Area and cycle measurements
All cycle measurements require that at least one complete period of the signal is
acquired.
Meas. type Symbol Description/result
Area Area Area between the waveform and ground.
T
Eval
: evaluation time, time of a full waveform or limited
by a gate
Cycle area CArea Area between the waveform and ground, measured for
one period, see also "Area" measurement.
Pos. duty cycle PDCyc Width of the first positive pulse in relation to the period
in %.
Neg. duty cycle NDCyc Width of the first negative pulse in relation to the
period in %.
Cycle mean CMean Mean value of one cycle
Cycle RMS CRMS RMS (root mean square) value of one cycle
Cycle σ(S-dev) Cycσ Standard deviation of one cycle
