A.1 Volatile Mode
The R&S NRP2 provides a special operating mode, the Volatile Mode. This mode pro-
hibits saving of changed settings in the nonvolatile memory. When activated, the cur-
rent device configuration at the moment of activation is restored after each restart.
Therefore, Volatile Mode is recommended, if on power down you want a defined set-
ting regardless off any settings that were made either manually or by remote control.
The nonvolatile memory is not erased by default when Volatile Mode is activated. The
current device configuration is maintained. Thus, you can use this mode to configure
the R&S NRP2 for a measurement setup, that is always restored at boot time.
In addition, the R&S NRP2 can be reset to the factory default by erasing the nonvola-
tile memory.
A.1.1 Activating Volatile Mode
Voltaile Mode is controlled by a menu in the bootloader. To activate the Volatile Mode:
1. Press the "Volatile Mode" button while the R&S NRP2 boots.
2. Enter the password. The default password is 0000.
