GPIB instrument address
The GPIB address is set on the instrument, see Chapter 17.5.2.1, "GPIB settings",
on page 1043.
17.5.2 Remote settings
Access: "File" menu > "Setup" >"Remote Settings" tab.
The settings on this tab are required for remote control of the instrument via a connec-
ted computer.
17.5.2.1 GPIB settings
Displays the GPIB settings of the instrument.
It requires an optional GPIB bus card, option R&S RTE-B10.
Address
Indicates the GPIB address of the instrument if an optional GPIB bus card is installed.
The remote control address is factory-set to 20, but it can be changed if it does not fit
in the network environment. For remote control, addresses 0 through 30 are allowed.
The GPIB address is maintained after a reset of the instrument settings. Be aware that
changing the address has major effects on the communication to the remote computer.

Terminator
Specifies the symbol that is used as a terminator in GPIB communication.
