Shifting the baseband signal to a different center frequency can eliminate the car-
rier leakage problem.
Alternatively, apply an I and/or Q offset and vary the settings until the observed sig-
nal drop disappears, see "To optimize the carrier leakage suppression"
on page 275.
In the following examples, we assume that:

The R&S SMBV100B generates a baseband signal
●
A spectrum analyzer is connected to the R&S SMBV100B, the analyzed is config-
ured and measures the required signal characteristics.
To shift the generated baseband signal
► Select "Baseband > Baseband Offsets > Frequency Offset" and apply an offset to
the generated baseband signal.
To verify the characteristics of the generated signal and to observe the effect of
applied frequency offset and gain
► Use the built-in real-time graphical display.
