Shifting the baseband signal to a different center frequency can eliminate the car-
rier leakage problem.
Alternatively, apply an I and/or Q offset and vary the settings until the observed sig-
nal drop disappears, see "To optimize the carrier leakage suppression"
on page 275.
In the following examples, we assume that:
The R&S SMBV100B generates a baseband signal
A spectrum analyzer is connected to the R&S SMBV100B, the analyzed is config-
ured and measures the required signal characteristics.
To shift the generated baseband signal
Select "Baseband > Baseband Offsets > Frequency Offset" and apply an offset to
the generated baseband signal.
To verify the characteristics of the generated signal and to observe the effect of
applied frequency offset and gain
Use the built-in real-time graphical display.
For an example, see Chapter 2.3.5, "Verifying the Generated Signal with the
Graphics Display", on page 61.
