Digital impairments
In R&S SMW, you access this function from the blocks "I/Q Analog", "I/Q Digital"
and "I/Q Mod".
Handling of data lists
You can create new and edit existing data lists directly from the dialog you define
the data source.
Number of baseband sources
The R&S SMW uses four baseband sources, the "Baseband A,B,C and D".
Generation of the signal of more than one antenna
In some digital standards in R&S SMU, like the "EUTRA/LTE", "IEEE 802.11n" or
"WiMAX", the generation of the signal of more than one antenna is implemented
with the function "Use Baseband A+B".
In R&S SMW, the number of "Tx Antennas" is a "System Configuration" setting.
Analog I/Q outputs in inactive state
By default, the analog I/Q OUT connectors are deactivated.
A.8 Flexible Signal Routing and Mapping of the I/Q
Streams to the Output Connectors
The R&S SMW introduced new signal routing concept.
The R&S SMU provides rather limited routing possibility for the generated base-
band signals. For example, the signal of "Baseband A" is output at one of the fol-
lowing connectors: the RF A, the analog I/Q A outputs and, if available, the DIG I/Q
A.
In R&S SMW, however, you define how the generated I/Q streams are mapped to
the available output connectors.
The default stream mapping is compatible to the R&S SMU capabilities.
You have basically two possibilities to route the signal and map the streams:
Drag and drop blocks
Use the new dedicated functional block, the "I/Q Stream Mapper", and the cor-
responding dialog
To route a stream, tap on the switching matrix.
