Figure 10-1: Parameter and operating modes, reset by the respective preset functions
Overview of the characteristics of the preset functions
Select the preset option that most fits to your particular application:
●
PRESET
It is the most frequently used function.
A Preset executes a defined instrument setup to provide an initial instrument state
as a basis for a new configuration. It resets all parameters and switching states,
including also the states of inactive operating modes.
Network, remote access or system settings are retained.
► To execute a preset, press the PRESET key at the front panel.
●
"Set to Default"
Set To Default relates to individual dialogs or tabs and resets the associated set-
tings of the corresponding dialog. All other settings are retained.
For example, you can use it to reset all digital modulation settings in the "Custom
Digital Mod" dialog.
► To reset the grouped settings, click "Set To Default".
●
"Preset this parameter"
Sets a single parameter to its default value.
► To reset an individual parameter: Open its context-sensitive menu and select "Pre-
set this parameter...".
●
"Factory Preset"
A factory preset is the most profound preset function that resets almost all instru-
ment settings, including reference oscillator, network and remote access settings.
