The “Transpose” function lets you change the pitch without changing your keyboard fingering.
This is convenient when you need to play in a different key in order to match the range of a vocalist, or when playing from notation
that was written for a transposing instrument such as a trumpet.
The transposition range is from -1 octaves (-12 semitones) to +1 octaves (+12 semitones) in semitone steps.
If the transposition setting causes any keys to exceed the range of A0–C8, those keys may sound one octave higher (or lower).
The MIDI Out connector and USB Computer connector will transmit note messages as transposed by this setting.
Note messages received via the MIDI In connector or USB Computer connector will not be transposed.
The transpose setting is saved as setup data (p. 48).

While holding down the [Transpose] button, press a key.
For example, if you want the “E” pitch to sound when you play the “C” key, hold down the [Transpose] button and press the E4 key.
This specifies a transpose setting of “+4.”

The previous screen will reappear when you release the [Transpose] button.
If you’ve specified a transposition, the Transpose function will be on and the [Transpose] button will light. If the transposition amount
is “0,” the indicator will not light even if you press the [Transpose] button.
You can also change the amount of transposition by turning the [Value] dial.

To turn off the Transpose function, press the [Transpose] button so it’s indicator goes out.
The next time you press the [Transpose] button, the pitch will be transposed by the amount you specified.
