About

The

standard
was
created
to
provide
for

performance
information
among
electronic
musical
instruments
and
computers.
The
MIDI
Connectors
Take
a
look
at
the
rear
panel
of
your
piano.
You
should
be
able
to
quickly
find
the
two
MIDI
sockets,
These
connec-
tors
enable
the
piano
to
‘converse’
with
other
MIDI-
aguinped
units.
The
two
connectors
function
as
follows:

MIDI
IN
Connector
This
connector
is
where
messages
from
other
MIDI-
equipped
units
are
received,
and
can
be
likened
to
the
“ears”
which
listen
to
what
the
other
instrument
has
to
convey.

MIDI
OUT
Connector
From
this
connector,
messages
are
sent
out
to
other
MIDI-equipped
units.
It
can
be
likened
to
the
"mouth"
in
the
ongoing
dialogue
between
the
units.
In
order
to
enable
communication
between
two
devices,
you
need
to
run
a
cable,
such
as
shown
below,
between
their
respective
MIDI
connectors.
