WhenNotUsingforaLongPeriodofTime
Ifyoudonotusethemachineforalongtime,ensurethefollowing:
•
Cleantheinternalcompartmentsusingthededicatedcleaningcartridgeinadvance.Forthe
cleaningmethod,seepage118"CleanInternals".
•
Oncetheinternalcompartmentsarecleaned,turnthemachinepoweroff,disconnectthe
USBcableorEthernetcable,andthenunplugitfromthewalloutlet.
Itisrecommendedtoprintatleastonceamonth,becausethemachineconsumesaconsiderable
amountofinkforperiodicmaintenanceandprintheadcleaningwhenturnedonafteralong
periodofinactivity.
Becarefulofthefollowing:
•
Thenozzlesoftheprintheadsmaydryoutandbecomeclogged.Topreventthis,periodically
printsomething.Evenifyoudonotprintanything,turnthemachineonforafewminutes
onceevery20‐25days.
•
If you do not use the machine for a long period of time, alwayscheckifthenozzlesare
cloggedbyprintinganozzlechecktestpattern.Seepage99"NozzleCheck".Cleantheprint
headsasnecessary,andthenbeginprinting.Seepage101"Head‐cleaning".
•
Ifyoutrytousethemachineafterithasbeenoutofuseforalongtime,it may not print
properlyevenifheadcleaningiscarriedoutseveraltimes.Ifthisisthecase,carryouthead
flushing.Seepage102"Head‐flushing".Iftheprintheadsarestillclogged,leavethemachine
forabouttenminutes,andthenprintthenozzlecheckpattern.Iftheproblempersists,turn
themachineoffandleaveitforatleasteighthours.Thisshouldunclogtheprintheads.

After head cleaning is performed multiple times, clogged ink will dissolve over time, and
normalprintingmaybecomepossible.
•
Ifthereisnoimprovementafterperformingthestepsabove,contactauthorizedRolandDG
Corporationdealer.
•
Whendisconnectingthepowercordfromthewalloutlet,alwayspulltheplug,notthe
cord.Pullingthecordcandamagethepowercord.Useofdamagedpowercordscould
resultinfireorelectricshock.
•
Ifthismachineisnotgoingtobeusedforseveraldaysorlongeratatime,disconnectits
powercordfromthewalloutlet.
