If you have the VS-CDR (optional), you can create an audio CD of your music directly from the
VS-880EX. You can then add additional songs to your CD or “finalize” your CD so it can be played
on ordinary CD players.
You will need to bounce your tracks to a stereo mix (page 68 of this guide) on tracks 7-1 and 8-1,
use the Track Cut and Track Insert functions to adjust the space at the beginning and end of your
song (see pages 75 and 77 of this guide), and listen to your “mastered” version of your song to
determine if any final adjustments are necessary.
ACTION: Auditioning Your Stereo Mix for CD
Burning
Only songs using a 44.1kHz sampling rate can be written to the CD-R.
1. Hold [SHIFT] and press [AUX SEND] (CH EDIT button 6).
2. Press the [CH EDIT] button 7.
3. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button and use the TIME/VALUE dial to select
“Channel Link = On.”
4. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button until “TRd FX1 Ins” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “Off.”
5. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button so that “TRd EFFECT 1” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “Off.”
6. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button so that “TRd FX2 Ins” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “Off.”
7. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button so that “TRd EFFECT2” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “Off.”
8. Hold [SHIFT] and press [ASSIGN] (CH EDIT button 1).
9. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button so that “TRd ATT” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “0dB.”
10. Press the [PARAMETER>>] button until “TRd EQ Switch” is displayed and use the
TIME/VALUE dial to select “Off.”
11. Press [PLAY/DISPLAY] to return to the main play screen and make sure that the
[AUTOMIX] button is not lit.
12. Press the [STATUS] button 7 until it lights green (play mode). Press the [STATUS]
buttons 1-6 so they are not lit (mute).
13. Raise the [FADER] for channel 7 to 0dB and set the pan position to 12 o’clock
(straight up).
14. Reset your song to the beginning and press [PLAY] to hear your song as it will
sound on the CD. If any mixer settings such as level, effects, or EQ do not sound the
way you want them to, make the necessary adjustments and bounce the tracks again.
Then, repeat these steps for the new tracks until you are satisfied with the results.
