Sync VS-880EX to Drum Machine or MIDI
Sequencer
The VS-880EX can easily synchronize with your drum machine or sequencer using Song Position Pointer.
SYNC:
If your sequencer does not support MIDI Time Code or MIDI Machine Control you must use MIDI Clock
to synchronize it with the VS-880EX. Connect the MIDI IN and OUT ports of the VS-880EX to your MIDI
sequencer (or drum machine) as shown in the diagram below. For this setup, the VS-880EX must be the
master. Make sure that the VS-880EX’s sync source is set to internal. The VS-880EX must be set to generate
MIDI Clock and the MIDI Thr must be set to Out. To respond, the MIDI sequencer (or drum machine)
must be set to MIDI Sync.
AUDIO:
Connect the audio outputs of your MIDI devices to the audio inputs of the VS-880EX. You can use the
[FADER/EDIT] button to determine whether the faders control the output of your MIDI devices or your
playback tracks. You can record fader movements of the VS-880EX to the MIDI sequencer. For mixdown,
connect the digital out of the VS-880EX to your DAT machine.
