THE WARRANTY IS EXTENDED TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER ONLY

WARRANTY DURATION: This product is warranted to the original purchaser for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase

date. EACH UNIT COMES WITH A WARRANTY CARD, WHICH MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND RETURNED

IMMEDIATELY, WITH A COPY OF THE PURCHASING RECEIPT. FAILURE TO RETURN YOUR WARRANTY CARD WILL LIMIT

WARRANTY TO 90 DAYS WITH PROOF OF PURCHASE.

WARRANTY COVERAGE: This product is warranted against defective materials or workmanship. The warranty is void if the product

has been damaged by accident, misuse, neglect, modication or improper service or repairs by unauthorized personnel. It is also

void if damaged in shipment or by other causes not arising out of defects in the materials or workmanship. This warranty does not

extend to any units which have been in violation of written instructions furnished. This warranty covers only the product and its

specic parts, not food or other products processed in it.

WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS: This warranty is in lieu of all warranties expressed or implied, and no representative or person is

authorized to assume any other liability in connection with the sale of our products. There shall be no claims for defects or failure of

performance under any theory of sort, contract or commercial law including, but not limited to negligence, gross negligence, strict

liability or breach of contract. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for damage to persons, things or animals arising from the

failure to comply with the norms contained in this manual. The manufacturer reserves the right to make modications at anytime to

the models while maintaining the main characteristics described herein. The manufacturer also declines all responsibility for any

errors in compiling this manual.

WARRANTY PERFORMANCE: During the warranty period, a product with a defect will either be repaired or replaced after the

product has been inspected by a Roots and Harvest Service Technician. ROOTS AND HARVEST RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE

WARRANTY PERFORMANCE OR PRODUCT EVALUATION UNLESS THE ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT OR THE WARRANTY CARD IS ON FILE. The

repaired product will be in warranty for the balance of the warranty period. No charge will be made for such repair or replacement.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If any parts are missing or defective, please contact our Customer Service Department for assistance at

877-509-3457 (M-F 8:30am to 4:30pm EST). DO NOT RETURN TO THE STORE WHERE THE PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED. Roots

and Harvest is not responsible for, or will not cover under warranty, missing or damaged parts on discounted/clearance, resale or

nal sale items where the seller may not be able to guarantee full functionality or completeness of the unit.

ROOTS AND HARVEST MERCHANDISE RETURN POLICY WARRANTY SERVICE: To obtain service under terms of this warranty,

please contact us at 877-509-3457 to obtain authorization prior to returning the merchandise. No merchandise will be accepted

without prior authorization. Prior to returning the product for warranty repair the product must be thoroughly cleaned and free from

any food particles or other debris. Failure of the purchaser to comply with this standard may result in the unit being returned

without repair. In some cases, a $50 cleaning surcharge may apply. Please return the product prepaid in the original packaging if

possible, enclose a copy of your receipt, (keep a copy of your proof-of-purchase for your records) and include a written explanation of

the issue. Ship to Roots and Harvest, 4440 Muhlhauser Road, Suite 300, West Chester, OH 45011. Roots and Harvest is not responsible

for damage incurred in shipping, make certain to pack product properly. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the

purchaser. Packages returned to Roots and Harvest should be insured for the value of the product to cover any damages that may

occur during shipping.

The Roots and Harvest® 1566 Black Garlic Multi-Purpose Fermenter is a multifunctional automatic intelligent fermenter designed to assist in making various fermented foods and disinfecting non-plastic household goods. It comes with a 1-year warranty from the original purchase date, which is extended to 90 days with proof of purchase if the warranty card is not returned. The warranty covers defective materials or workmanship and is void if the product is damaged by accident, misuse, neglect, modification, improper service, or repairs by unauthorized personnel.

Function Description:

This fermenter is capable of producing:

Black Garlic: Both solo garlic and regular garlic can be fermented. The fermenter features a cage-like structure for good air circulation and uniform temperature during fermentation. The cage can hold approximately 3-4 lbs of garlic. Default fermentation times range from 6 to 12 days, with temperatures between 72°C and 79°C, depending on the chosen duration. The drying function can be used to improve the fermentation effect for garlic with heavy water content.
Yogurt/Natto: This function allows for the fermentation of yogurt and natto. The time range is adjustable from 4 to 24 hours, with a temperature range of 33°C to 45°C. Recommended times vary based on weather and food quantity.
Enzyme/Sweet Wine: This function supports the creation of enzymes and sweet wine. The time range is 2 to 12 days, with a temperature range of 22°C to 38°C.
Drying/Heat Preservation: This feature can be used for drying fermented products or for heat preservation. The time range is 2 to 72 hours, with a temperature range of 46°C to 74°C.
Simmer/Disinfection: This function provides high-temperature sterilization for household goods (excluding plastics) and can be used for simmering. The time range is 2 to 72 hours, with a temperature range of 78°C to 90°C.

The fermenter includes an automatic timing function and a power failure memory function. If power is interrupted, the fermenter will suspend work and automatically resume once power is restored, preventing accidental power outages. The unit will automatically shut down after 5 minutes in standby mode or after 2 hours once fermentation is complete.

Important Technical Specifications:

Power Supply: The appliance must be connected to a 110/120V AC electric supply only.
Heating System: Features a surround heater for uniform heating, constant temperature, and minimal heat loss, reducing energy consumption.
Control Panel: Equipped with a digital display, function buttons (Solo Garlic, Garlic, Yogurt/Natto, Enzyme/Sweet Wine, Drying/Heat Preservation, Simmer/Disinfection), time and temperature setting buttons, and an Enter/Cancel button.
Capacity: The garlic cage can hold 3-4 lbs (1.5-2 kg) of garlic.

Usage Features:

Operation: To begin, plug the fermenter into the power supply. The display will show "888". If it shows otherwise, press and hold the ENTER/CANCEL button for 2-3 seconds to reset. Press the FUNCTION button to select the desired mode. Time and temperature can be adjusted using the TIME and TEMP buttons within 15 seconds of function selection. The fermenter will start immediately after pressing ENTER/CANCEL or automatically after 15 seconds.
Display: During operation, the indicator light for the selected function will flash, and the display will cycle through remaining fermentation time (in days and hours) and actual working temperature (in Celsius).
Black Garlic Fermentation: For best results, fill the cage with 3-4 lbs of garlic, shaking to settle. The first time making black garlic, it is recommended to set it to 7 days. The fermentation can be ended earlier if desired or extended for 1-2 more days if the garlic is still wet or not black enough. The drying function can be used for 6-48 hours to improve dryness, with the lid left slightly ajar for humidity to escape.
Safety: A polarized plug is included to reduce the risk of electric shock. Users are warned to use extreme caution when opening the lid during or after cooking due to hot steam and potential scalding. The appliance should always be used on a level, stable surface.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning: All removable parts, including the inner pot and garlic cage, should be thoroughly hand-washed in hot soapy water and dried completely before use. The inner bowl is made of aluminum and should not be put in the dishwasher to prevent oxidation. The exterior of the appliance can be wiped with a soapy damp cloth; abrasive cleansers should not be used. The inner pot and stainless-steel cage must be wiped dry before being placed back in the appliance.
Disinfection: The disinfection function can be used to sterilize the inner tank and utensils. Alternatively, items can be sterilized by boiling in water for about 1 minute.
General Care: Always turn the appliance OFF and unplug it from the outlet before cleaning, assembling, or disassembling parts. Do not immerse the device, cord, or plug in water or expose it to rain/moisture. The work area around the appliance should be kept clean and well-lit.
