Testing and inspection work
8.4 Testing and inspection work
WARNING!
Risk of accident and injury!
Damage to the power generator, and equipment that has not been properly
repaired, can cause serious accidents or endanger the success of the
operation.
Any damage which occurs must be repaired before reuse.
Assessment and inspection work is work that may only be carried out by
correspondingly trained fire-fighting personnel, who are familiar with the
power generator.
This work must be carried out regularly, especially after each use, to ensure
optimum operational safety of the power generator.
All components, locks and fittings of holding and storage systems have to
be checked if they are in a good condition and verify safe storage. Any de-
viation, damage or defects must be corrected immediately or repaired.
Observe the operation manual of the engine manufacturer!
► Only perform service work on switched off power generator.
► Press emergency stop button before starting service work.
► By removing the housing the liquid-locking compound loses its effect.
► When installing the housing, secure the screw connections with a
suitable liquid-locking compound (e.g. Loctite 542).
Recurrent tests
The generator must be subjected to a recurrent testing in accordance with
the relevant national regulations. Observe the applicable laws and regula-
tions. Rosenbauer recommends that a recurring test be carried out every 5
years at the latest. The recurring tests are to be documented accordingly.
The tests may only be carried out by correspondingly trained expert person-
nel using the prescribed measuring devices!
• Visual check
• Testing of the equipotential bonding conductor and the metal surfaces
• Measurement of the insulation resistance
• Inspection of the protective equipment (line protection, insulation mon-
itor)
• Carry out a functional check of the equipment
• Inspecting the inscriptions and warning advice
