HDR and WCG Conversion Methods
Conversion for HDR and WCG can be applied at a
number of points in the video stream through the
switcher. Where you apply conversion will depend on
how you want to use the video.
Switcher the switcher is operating in a particular
HDR and WCG mode. These are the color gamut and
dynamic range that all sources are converted to and
all outputs are set to. Refer to To Set a Reference
Format on page 20 for information.
Input Conversion conversion is applied to the
input video to match the mode the switcher is
operating in. Like video format conversion, you must
select the HDR and WCG that the source is coming
into the switcher in. The switcher will then convert
the video to the same color gamut and dynamic range
that it is operating in. Refer to To Set Up Video
Sources on page 24 for information.
Output Conversion conversion is applied to the
output video. You can set an output to convert the
color gamut and dynamic range of any video source
being fed out it. This conversion is only applied to
the selected output. Refer to To Assign an Output
Source to an Output BNC on page 31 for more
information.
Individual Conversion the internal color
correctors are used to convert a particular source on
a particular bus. You can manually convert a source
on a bus and use the color correction menu to adjust
the video. Refer to To Apply Proc Amp Video
Correction to a Source on page 80 for more
information.
To Set the Scaling for Dynamic
Range Conversion
You can set the scaling used for the HDR conversion.
These values are applied universally when video is
converted from one range to another.
1. Press HOME > Setup > Installation > More >
Reference > Dynamic Range.
2. Use the Convert from knob to select the range you
will be converting from.
3. Use the Convert to knob to select the range you
will be converting to.
4. Use the Gain knob to select the linear optical scale
you want to use for this conversion.
Note: Only supported conversions are shown.
Tip: Press Default to return the scale back to the default
value.
5. Repeat this procedure for each conversion scenario
you want to adjust the linear scaling for.
HDR and WCG Reset
You can reset both the input and output correction to a
particular settings.
To Reset HDR/WCG on Inputs
You can select the particular dynamic range and color
gamut that you want to reset all video inputs to.
1. Press HOME > Setup > Installation > More >
Reference.
2. Use the Color Gamut and Dynamic Range
buttons to select the format you want to reset the
inputs to.
3. Press Reset Input CG/DR.
The format that you are resetting the inputs to is
shown on the conrmation page.
4. Press Confirm..
To Reset HDR/WCG on Outputs
You can select the particular dynamic range and color
gamut that you want to reset all video outputs to.
1. Press HOME > Setup > Installation > More >
Reference.
2. Use the Color Gamut and Dynamic Range
buttons to select the format you want to reset the
outputs to.
3. Press Reset Output CG/DR.
The format that you are resetting the outputs to is
shown on the conrmation page.
4. Press Confirm..
