13.4.6) Double ignition coil
See Pic. 134.
If the failure of a single spark plug or 2 spark
plugs is noticed, check the connections and the
resistance values of the respective double igni-
tion coil (see Chapter 13.4.11) and 13.4.14).
Assure the iron core Q is not loose. If required,
renew the double ignition coil. In this case the
disassembly work as described below is nec-
essary (see Chapter 13.4.12 and 13.4.13).
ignition coil, primary.... connection contact — ground .........0,1 ÷ 0,4 Ω
ignition coil, secondary ......... high voltage — high voltage. 6,1 ÷ 6,7 kΩ
dimensions new wear limit
See Wear Limits, Chapter 15.
13.4.7) Cut-in speed of ignition
See Pic. 135.
Ignition must cut-in between 150 rpm. and max. 220 rpm. of crankshaft. To be
checked with stroboscope and inductive pliers (see Chapter 11.5).
For this procedure, connect stroboscope Q to battery
W and clamp inductive pliers E to the ignition cable of
cylinder 1 (top) or cylinder 2 (top). These two spark
plugs are actuated by the trigger coil A1/2.
Start engine, aim stroboscope towards trig-
ger coil A1/2 and observe flashing light.
This procedure should be conducted with
all ignition cables.
