Piston - refit
• Turn the engine through 90° on the stand so that it faces
upward, in the same position as when fitted on the frame.
• Insert the cylinder centering pins Q with the splits pointing
down towards the crankcase.
• Place the cylinder bottom gasket W on the crankcase.
■ Caution: Cover the opening in the crankcase with a
clean cloth to stop any of the piston pin
circlips (with the bent end) falling into the
crankcase during the fitting.
• Grease the eye in the connecting rod small end E and the
piston pin R with MOLYKOTE G-N and oil the connecting
rod big end bearing T with engine oil.
• Position the crankshaft at the TDC with the crankshaft
retaining screw Y.
• Fit the circlip with the bent end U in the groove in the piston
P, using an inserter jig I and an inserter O:
■ Caution: You MUST use new bent-end circlips!
I Fit the inserter O with the wide opening on to a new circlip
U so that the bent end couples into the recess A in the
inserter.
II Use the rounded end of the inserter jig to press the circlip
further into the inserter and align it so that it is perpendicular.
III Turn the inserter jig I upside down and press the circlip
U down to the groove.
• Position the inserter O and the inserter jig I next to the
piston P , center up the jig on the piston pin and press the
circlip into the piston.

Pistone — montaggio
• Ruotare il motore sul supporto da 90° verso l'alto, nella
posizione del motore sul telaio.
• Inserire i perni di centraggio Q del cilindro con lo spacco dei
perni verso il basso nel carter.
• Posare la guarnizione W della base cilindro sul carter.
■ Attenzione: Per evitare il rischio che un fermo spinotto
(con estremità piegata) cada nel carter
durante il montaggio bisogna coprire
l’apertura del carter con un panno pulito.
• Ingrassare l’occhio piede biella E e lo spinotto R con
MOLYKOTE G-N ed il cuscinetto testa biella T con olio
motore.
• Posizionare l’albero motore al punto morto superiore con la
vite di bloccaggio albero motore Y.
• Montaggio del fermo con estremità piegata U nella gola nel
pistone P con tampone di montaggio I e bussola
montaggio O:
■ Attenzione: Utilizzare assolutamente nuovi fermi con
estremità piegata!
I Inserire la bussola di montaggio O con l’apertura grande
su un nuovo fermo U in modo che l’estremità piegata si
agganci nell’incavo A della bussola di montaggio.
II Con l’estremità arrotondata del tampone di montaggio il
fermo viene inserito ulteriormente nella bussola di
montaggio ed allineato perpendicolarmente.
III Capovolgere il tampone di montaggio I e spingere il fermo
U fino alla gola.
• Accostare la bussola O ed il tampone di montaggio I al
pistone P centrando il tampone nello spinotto e premere
il fermo nel pistone.
