Locking crankshaft at top dead center
• In general: Turn the primary fixed pulley W counter-
clockwise with the retainer Q.
■ Caution: Use only the bent ends of the retainer to
hold the primary pulley and not the
cylindrical parts, as these may break the
pulley fins!

Top dead center position — for jobs not involving timing
mechanism
• After removing the spark plug, locate the top dead
center through the spark plug hole with a wooden dowel
R.
• Remove the M8 Allen screw T (size 6 wrench) with its
ring gasket from the top part of the half crankcase,
transmission side Y.
• Screw the crankshaft retaining screw U in a little way.

• Turn the primary pulley slightly in both directions until
you can feel the top dead center, then lock the crankshaft
by screwing the retaining screw fully home.
Torque wrench setting + 8 Nm
Bloccaggio dell’albero motore al punto morto
superiore
• In generale: Con la chiave di fissaggio Q ruotare la
puleggia primaria fissa W nel senso antiorario.
■ Attenzione: Tenere la puleggia primaria solo con le
estremità piegate della chiave — non con
le parti cilindriche — rischio di rompere le
alette della puleggia primaria!

Posizione del punto morto superiore — per lavori che
n o n riguardano il meccanismo di distribuzione
• A candela rimossa, determinare il punto morto superiore con
una barra in legno R inserita nel foro per la candela.
• Rimuovere la vite a brugola M8 (chiave da 6) T con anello
guarnizione nella zona superiore del semicarter, lato
trasmissione Y.
• Inserire un poco la vite di bloccaggio albero motore U.

• Girando la puleggia primaria leggermente nei due sensi,
sentire il punto morto superiore, poi fissare l'albero motore
inserendo la vite di bloccaggio a fondo.
Coppia di serraggio + 8 Nm
