Cylinder head
Camshaft - remove
■ Caution: Before attempting to unscrew the 2 M5 Allen
screws Q, break the LOCTITE sealant loose
by tapping on the screw head with a plastic
hammer and a drift, or straight Allen wrench,
or by using an impact type power screw
driver. If you fail to observe this caution, you
will surely damage the internal hexagon
recesses in the heads of the Allen screws!
• Using an Allen wrench and centering pin, remove the 2 M5
Allen screws Q and withdraw the retaining plate W in an
upward direction.
Service tool ☞ 3/8" insert with
centering pin

• Extract the 2 pins E on the rocker arm seat R with a
screwdriver, going from the spark plug side to the timing
gear, and remove the rocker arm together with the thrust
washers T and spring washersY.
• Withdraw the camshaft U from its housing.
• Before removing the valves, test the cylinder head for
leakage (BOSCH or SUN Tester). If the leakage is lass than
5 %, the valve seal is satisfactory.
Inlet and exhaust valves - remove
■ Caution: When disassembling the inlet and exhaust
valves, valve springs, valve spring washers
and valve keepers, mark them according to
their fitting order and position, so that they
can be reassembled in the same way.
Testata
Albero a camme — smontaggio
■ Attenzione: Prima di svitare le 2 viti a brugola M5 Q,
eliminare l’incollaggio della LOCTITE con
un colpo di martello in plastica sulla testa
della vite, utilizzando un punzone o una
chiave a brugola diritta, o con avvitatore a
percussione — altrimenti si rischia di
danneggiare l’esagono interno delle viti!
• Con la chiave a brugola con spina di centraggio rimuovere le
2 viti a brugola M5 Q ed estrarre la piastra di ritenuta W
verso l’alto.
Attrezzatura specifica ☞ Inserto 3/8" con spina di
centraggio

• Estrarre le 2 spine E sede bilanciere R a mezzo di un
cacciavite dal lato candela verso l’ingranaggio di distribuzione
e smontare il bilanciere assieme ai rasamenti T e le
rondelle elastiche Y.
• Estrarre l’albero a camme U dal suo alloggiamento.
• Prima di smontare le valvole, controllare la perdita della
testata (BOSCH o SUN Tester). Se la perdita è inferiore al
5 %, la tenuta delle valvole è in ordine.
Valvole di aspirazione e scarico — smontaggio
■ Attenzione: Allo smontaggio delle valvole di aspira-
zione e scarico, molle valvole, rondella
molla valvole e dei semiconi valvole
contrassegnarli secondo il loro accoppia-
mento e la posizione di montaggio, per
rimontarli nella stessa posizione.
