The magneto flywheel is provided with two punched mark s.
"0" is in lin e with the mark on th e housing when the piston is at top dead center.
"M" indicat es the firing position. ~
When fitting new ignition systems or systems without marks, the t op dead cent er and \.J
firing position should be determined with the aid of the ignition . timing ga u ge and
suitably marked.
It is advisable to ch eck the i gnit i on setting every time the engine is inspected, since the
performance of the e ngine depends on this and trouble with the li ghts is not in-
frequently du e to f au l ty ignition setting.
At the sa me tim e also check th e spark gap of th e s parkin g plug (0.5 mm) (0 .020 in. ).
