When you take a photo under
backlit
conditions,

example in
front
of
a
window
indoors, the
subject may appear darker. Under
backlit
conditions, you should
set a proper metering option
depending on your purpose.

expert mode,

~Metering~
Spot.
Align the main subject in the centre
of
the
frame, and then take a photo.
