There are three types of Emergency alerts:

Alerts issued by the President
•
Alerts involving imminent threats to safety of life

•
AMBER alerts (missing child alert)
Users may choose not to receive Imminent alerts

Note: Alerts issued by the President cannot be
disabled.
To disable Imminent and AMBER alerts:
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps > .
2. Tap
 > Settings >
.
3. Tap Emergency alerts.

All alerts are enabled (on) by default.
4. Tap an alert option to disable it.
