Thissectiondescribestheimagefusingprocessusedbythemachine.
2.6.1.FuserUnitOverview
Thisunitfusesthetonerthatwastransferredbythetransferrollerontothepaper,byapplyingheatandpressuretocomplete
thefusingprocess.Thismachineusesaninstantfusingsystem(NIFtype).
NOTE
ThisfuserunitiscommonlyusedforMXX7(Color)andK7(Mono)series.
1)LampHalogen
Thefuserunithastwohalogenlamps.Oneheatsthecenterofthefusingbelt,theotherheatstheendofaxialdirection.
Thesehalogenlampsarelitalternatelytoheatthefusingbelt.Eachlamphasitscoilinadifferentlocation.Thecoilof
thecenterheaterlampisinthecenter,thoseofthesideheaterlampareonbothsides.Thelampsarexedinsideof
thefusingbelt.Whenrotatingthefusingbelt,theselampsdoesnotrotate.
2)BeltFuser
Thebeltfusergetsheatfromthehalogenlampandtransferittotonerandpaper.Thebeltfuserconsistsofthree
thin-layers.Thethinfusingbeltreduceswarminguptimeandmodechangingtime.Topreventthefusingbeltfrom
adheringtothetoner,thesurfaceofthefuserbeltisuorinated.ThereisaNipinsidethefusingbelt.Tomaintainthe
properNipbetweenthefusingbeltandpressureroller,thespringisused.
3)RollerFuserPressure
Thepressurerollerensurespropernipwidthbetweenthepressurerollerandfusingbelt.Itismadeupofthesoftsilicone
spongerubber.And,itisdrivenbythedrivingsystemanddrivesthefusingbelt.
4)Thermistor(NCsensor)
NCsensors(non-contacttypethermistors),locatednearthecenterandtheendofthefusingbelt,controlthetemperature
ofthefusingbelt.
