Thescannerisadevicetochangefromtheimagetothedata.Toscanthepicture,imageontheoriginal,itusesthelensand
CCD(ChargeCoupledDevice).Itstoresandtransferstheconvertedimagetothestoragespaceortransfersthescanned
datatotheprinterengineforcopy.
Forscanoperation,thescannerusesFRcarriageandHRcarriagethatismovedbythewire.Anditscanstheoriginal
documentonthescanglassorADF(AutoDocumentFeeding).
Thescannersystemconsistsof3modulesfollowingbelow.
•FR(FullRate)carriage:Illuminatestheoriginalandreectsthelightata90degreeangle.
•HR(HalfRate)carriage:TransfersthereectedlightfromtheFRcarriagetothelens.
•Imagingmodule:MakeanimageonCCD
HRcarriagemovesathalfdistanceandhalfspeedofFRcarriage.Thisprinciplekeepsaregulargapbetweentheoriginal
andimaginglens.
