Thismachineusesatonercartridge,aimagingunitandalaserbeamintheLSUformonoprinting.
TheOPCdrumischargedwithanegativevoltageandisexposedbythelightfromtheLSU(LaserScanningunit).
ThelightproducedbyalasercreatesalatentimagebydischargingonthesurfaceoftheOPCdrum.Thenegativelycharged
tonersareattractedtothelatentimageduetotheelectriceld.Thetoner(realimage)ontheOPCdrumaremovedtothe
paperbythepositivebiasappliedtothetransferroller.
1)OPCdrumcharge:ThechargerollergivestheOPCdrumanegativecharge.
2)Laserexposure:Lightproducedbyalaserdiode(LD)hitsthechargedOPCdrumthroughthelensandmirrors.The
machinecontrolsthelaserbeamon/offforthelatentimage.
3)Development:ThemagneticrollercarriesthenegativelychargedtonertothelatentimageontheOPCdrumsurface.
4)Transfer:TonerimageontheOPCdrummovestothepaperbythetransferrollerthatischargedwiththepositive
voltage.
5)CleaningforOPCdrum:ThecleaningbladeremoveremainingtonerontheOPCdrumsurfaceafterimagetransfer
tothepaper.
6)QuenchingforOPCdrum:QuenchingisdonebyilluminatingthewholeareaoftheOPCdrumwiththelaserat
theendofeveryjob.
