2.6.Fuserunit
Thissectiondescribesthefuserunitstructureandtheimagefusingprocess.
2.6.1.Fuserunitoverview
Thefuserunitfusesthetonerthatwastransferredbythetransferrollerontothepaper,byapplyingheatandpressureto
completefusingprocess.
1)HalogenLamp
Thefuserunithastwohalogenlamps.Oneheatsthecenteroftheheatroller,theotherheatstheendofaxialdirection.
Thesehalogenlampsarelitalternatelytoheattheheatroller.Eachlamphasitscoilinadifferentlocation.Thecoil
ofthecenterheaterlampisinthecenter,thoseofthesideheaterlampareonbothsides.Thelampsarexedinside
oftheheatroller.Whenrotatingtheheatroller,theselampsdoesnotrotate.
2)HeatRoller
Theheatrollerismadebythealuminumandgetsheatfromthehalogenlampandtransferittotonerandpaper.To
preventtheheatrollerfromadheringtothetoner,itssurfaceincludestheuoridation.Andtokeepthepropernipwidth
betweenthepressurerollerandheatroller,thepressurerollerAssypushestheheatrollerbyusingthespring.
3)PressureRoller
Thepressurerollerisasiliconrubberrollerwhichensurespropernipwidthbetweenthepressurerollerandheatroller.
4)NCsensor
NCsensor(non-contacttypethermistor),locatednearthecenteroftheheatroller,controlsthetemperature.
5)Thermostat
Thermostatscutoffthepowersupplytothehalogenlampbyopeningthecircuitwhentheheatrollerbecomes
abnormallyhotasaresultofproblemssuchasNCsensormalfunction.Thesethermostatsareusedtopreventabnormal
operation.Whenthethermostatistriggered,itmustbereplaced(aswellastheotherdamagedpartsinthefuserunit).
