Thismachineusesatonercartridge,aimagingunit,transferroller,andtwolaserbeamsintheLSUformonoprinting.
Theimagingunitconsistsofadrumunitanddeveloperunit.ThedrumunitconsistsofanOPCdrum,chargeroller,cleaning
roller,andcleaningblade.Thedeveloperunitconsistsofthedev.roller,supplyroller,Dr.blade,andagitator.
TheOPCdrumischargedwithanegativevoltagebythechargerollerandisexposedbythelightfromtheLSU(Laser
Scanningunit).
ThelightproducedbyalasercreatesalatentimagebydischargingonthesurfaceoftheOPCdrum.Thenegativelycharged
tonersareattractedtothelatentimageduetotheelectriceld.Thetoner(realimage)ontheOPCdrumaremovedtothe
paperbythepositivebiasappliedtothetransferroller.
1)OPCdrumcharge:ThechargerollergivestheOPCdrumanegativecharge.
2)Laserexposure:Lightproducedbyalaserdiode(LD)hitsthechargedOPCdrumthroughthelensandmirrors.The
machinecontrolsthelaserbeamon/offforthelatentimage.
3)Development:ThedevelopingrollercarriesthenegativelychargedtonertothelatentimageontheOPCdrumsurface.
4)Transfer:Thenegativelychargedtoneristransferredtothepaperbytransfervoltage.
5)CleaningforOPCdrum:ThecleaningbrushandbladeremoveremainingtonerontheOPCdrumsurfaceafter
imagetransfertothepaper.
6)QuenchingforOPCdrum:QuenchingisdonebyilluminatingthewholeareaoftheOPCdrumwiththelaserat
theendofeveryjob.
