2.6.1.Fuserunitoverview
ThismodelusestwoHeaterLampswhichprovidesforamuchfasterwarm-uptimethanthatofaconventionalfusing
system,thereforeittsinthecategoryofaninstantfusingsystem.
1)Drum-fuserbelt
TheFuserBeltismadeof3thinlayersthatcanbeheatedbythehalogenlampinsidemorequickly.Thedrum-fuser
beltcontains2fusinglamps.Onelamp,centerheatinglamp,heatsthecenterandtheotherlamp,sideheatinglamp,
heatstheendsintheaxialdirection.
2)PressureRoller
Thepressurerollerismadeofsoftsiliconerubber,whichattenslightlycreatesthefusingnip.
3)NCsensor
NCsensors(non-contacttypethermistors)arelocatedinthefrontareaandthesideareaofthedrum-fuserbeltand
controlsthetemperature.Theyprotectsthefusingsystemfromoverheating.
4)Thermostat
Thermostatscutoffthepowersupplytothehalogenlampbyopeningthecircuitwhenthefuserbeltbecomesabnormally
hotasaresultofproblemssuchasNCsensormalfunction.Thesethermostatsareusedtopreventabnormaloperation.
