Do you have a question about the Samsung WF-J1461V and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document serves as a user manual for a range of Samsung front-loading washing machines, including models WF-J1461, WF-J1261, WF-J1061, WF-J861, WF-B1461, WF-B1261, WF-B1061, WF-B861, WF-R1261, WF-R1061, WF-R861, WF-F1261, WF-F1061, WF-F861, WF-S1061, and WF-S861. It provides comprehensive information on installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure users can fully utilize the appliance's features and enjoy its benefits for many years.

The washing machine is designed for domestic use and incorporates a Fuzzy Logic system. This intelligent system automatically sets optimal water levels and other washing parameters, controls the washing process, and makes necessary corrections to achieve superior cleaning results. It can detect deviations in the washing cycle, such as excessive detergent or high vibration during spinning, and attempts to normalize these parameters. If normalization is not possible after several attempts, an error message will be displayed.

Key technical specifications vary by model, but generally, these front-loading washers have dimensions of approximately 598mm (W) x 600mm (D) x 844mm (H) for the J and B series, and slightly shallower depths for the R, F, and S series (e.g., 598mm (W) x 450mm (D) x 844mm (H) for R series, 598mm (W) x 404mm (D) x 844mm (H) for F series, and 598mm (W) x 340mm (D) x 844mm (H) for S series). Water pressure requirements are between 50 kPa and 800 kPa. Water volume ranges from 68 liters for larger models to 43 liters for smaller ones. Net weight varies from 74 kg to 51 kg. Wash and spin capacities are typically 7 kg (dry laundry) for the J and B series and 6 kg or 3.5 kg for the R, F, and S series. Power consumption for washing and heating is 2000W (220V) or 2400W (240V), with spin power consumption ranging from 700W to 200W depending on the model and voltage. Pumping power is 34W. Spin speeds can reach up to 1400 rpm for some models, with options for 1200, 1000, 800, and no spin.

Installation requires a hard, level surface, away from direct sunlight, with adequate ventilation and a room temperature above 0°C. The appliance should not be near heat sources like coal or gas, and its power cord should not be obstructed. Proper leveling is crucial to prevent noise and vibration, achieved by adjusting the leveling feet and tightening the locking nuts. All shipping bolts must be removed from the back of the unit before first use to prevent serious damage. The water supply hose connects to the cold water intake at the back of the machine and to a cold water faucet, tightened by hand. The drain hose can be positioned over the edge of a sink (60-90 cm high), into a sink drain pipe branch (at least 60 cm above ground), or into a vertical drain pipe (60-90 cm high). The machine MUST be grounded, and users are advised to consult a qualified electrician for proper grounding.

Usage features are controlled via a panel with a display, program select button, temperature selection button, spin selection button, and option button. The display shows the wash cycle and error messages, with the program indicator blinking during execution. Users can choose from six wash programs: Cotton, Coloureds, Synthetics, Handwash, Wool, Quickwash, Rinse+Spin, and Spin. Water temperature options include cold wash, 30°C, 40°C, 60°C, and 95°C. Spin speeds vary by model. Available partial wash options include Rinse Hold, Rinse+, and Prewash (available for Cotton, Synthetics, or Coloureds programs). A Delay Start function allows users to postpone the start of a cycle from 3 to 24 hours in 1-hour increments. A "Child Lock" function can be activated by pressing the Spin and Option buttons for more than 2 seconds, preventing changes to the cycle until it's canceled.

Before washing clothes for the first time, a complete cycle without clothes should be run at 40°C with a small amount of detergent to remove any manufacturing residues. Detergent is added to a dedicated drawer, with separate compartments for main wash detergent, softener, and prewash detergent. Laundry should be sorted by fabric type, color, size, and sensitivity. Pockets should be emptied, and fasteners secured. The manual provides a load capacity chart for different fabric types. Low-suds laundry soap designed for automatic washing machines is recommended, with quantities determined by detergent manufacturer recommendations, laundry weight, soiling factor, and water hardness.

Maintenance features include repairing a frozen washing machine by unplugging it, pouring warm water on the faucet and into the drum, and reconnecting the hoses. The exterior of the machine should be cleaned with a soft cloth and non-abrasive household detergents, avoiding pouring water directly onto the machine. The debris filter should be cleaned 2-3 times a year by removing the base cover, unscrewing the filter cap, cleaning the filter and pump propeller, and replacing the cap. The water hose mesh filter should be cleaned at least once a year, or when indicator lamps flicker, by turning off the water, unscrewing the hose, gently pulling out and rinsing the mesh filter, cleaning the threaded connector, and reassembling.

Troubleshooting guidance is provided for common issues such as the machine not starting, insufficient water supply, detergent remaining in the drawer, excessive vibration or noise, and drainage/spin problems. Error messages like dE, 4E, 5E, UE, and LE are explained with corresponding solutions, such as closing the door, checking water supply/pressure, cleaning filters, balancing laundry loads, and ensuring proper drain hose positioning. Users are advised to attempt remedies, restart the program, and contact after-sales service if problems persist.
