Operating Information
t Perform 1-point calibration during initial start-
up and always when the analyzer indicates
you do so. Disconnect the connection or lines
from the bioreactor (exhaust air filter) and
channel fresh air (0.04% CO
2
, 20.97% O
2
by
volume, residual N
2
) at a flow rate of min.


composition will falsify later measurements.
t Press the two buttons on the BioPAT
®
Xgas for
5 seconds.
t As soon as the left LED is lit up continuously
in green, the analyzer is ready for operation.
For autoclavable bioreactors:
When disconnecting from the exhaust line
during preparation of the bioreactor for the pro-
cess, e.g. for autoclaving, you must not switch off
the BioPAT
®
Xgas. The displayed measurement
signal then indicates the measurement of the
ambient air.
t On bioreactors with autoclavable culture
vessels, remove any exhaust line already
connected to the BioPAT
®
Xgas.
t Prepare the bioreactor for the process

e.g. sterilization, calibration of the DO sensor
and inoculation.
