5.2.2 In-process Measurement
Temperatures in the exhaust air >40°C or
oxygen-free exhaust air can damage the sensors
in the BioPAT
®
Xgas!
The pure nitrogen used during zero-point cali-
bration of the DO sensor in the culture vessel
must not escape into the BioPAT
®
Xgas. Humidity
and condensation in the exhaust air can damage
the sensors.
t Ensure that exhaust cooling is always active
during measurement. Monitor whether
condensation forms in the exhaust line. Abort
the measurement if condensation enters
the BioPAT
®
Xgas. Dry the BioPAT
®
Xgas as


B or B-DCU II
t After autoclaving, set up the culture vessels
at the work place. If required, calibrate the
zero point of the built-in DO sensor with pure
nitrogen.
t Ensure that the process temperature is
< 40°C.
t Connect the exhaust line to the BioPAT
®
Xgas.
