Replacing the Timing Belt of Ribbon Motors
Required tools:
• Phillips screwdriver
• Thin shaft
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from
the AC outlet.
2 Open the rear housing covers from the printer.
Refer to Section 5.1.1 Opening the Rear Housing Cover for details.
3 Remove two screws attached to the
pulley bracket and then the screw
attached to the ribbon rewind
spindle on the other side.
To remove the screw easily, insert a thin
shaft into a hole through the ribbon rewind
spindle
as shown on the picture. Then hold
the ribbon rewind spindle
while removing
the screw
.
4 Remove the bearing and pulley bracket .
5 If you need to replace the timing belt of the ribbon rewind motor, perform steps 6
through 8.
6 Disconnect the ribbon rewind cable .
7 Remove two screws attaching the ribbon rewind motor to the printer frame.
