Trouble Shooting
When the printer start up, if the printing control board (PCU) unable to
sense the signal of any charged drops in the print head, the printer will
give “No signal Fault”. One of the following conditions has occurred: 1)
No ink stream; 2) The ink stream can’t jet into the gutter; 3) No ink drop
formation; 4)No charging for ink drops; 5) PCU not receive the signal
from the test point which locate at the gutter.
No signal fault
If the below solutions do not achieve recovery, it is conceivable that the
problem is attributable to a PC board or circulation system failure. In
such an instance, contact your nearest Saturn distributor.
Type Cause* Solution
1. There is no ink
stream.
Check the printer with follow steps to solve problem:
Check the ink pressure from the ink pressure
gauge.(Default value is about 40psi);
Back wash the nozzle.
Check the ink supply solenoid working status.
Check the main ink filter whether is blockage or not;
Check the ink supply pump.
2. The ink stream
can’t jet into the
gutter.
Check the printer with follow steps to solve problem:
Check the ink stream could reach into the gutter or
not; perform the alignment procedure.
Check the recovery pump working status;
Check the recovery tube whether blocked or not.
Check whether the recovery filter blocked or not;
3. No ink drop
formation
Check the printer with follow steps to solve problem:
Check the nozzle drive rod connection.
Check and adjust the nozzle drive value to get good
drops.
Replace a new nozzle;
Check the connection between PCU and PDU board;
Replace the PDU or PCU board.
4. Ink drop can not be
charged correctly.
Check the printer with follow steps to solve problem:
Check the 10K resistance in charge cable by multi
meter;
Check the connection between PCU and PDU board;
Replace the PDU or PCU board.

5. The gutter sensor
can not detect the
charging signal
from the drops.
Check the printer with follow steps to solve problem:
Check the recovery detect wire connection with
gutter and PDU board;
Check the ground wire connection of recovery tube.
Check the connection between PCU and PDU board;
Replace the PDU or PCU board.
