Do you have a question about the Saturn ST-CO9156 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Saturn ST-CO9156 Convection Oven is a versatile kitchen appliance designed to replace up to 10 other appliances, including a standard oven, grill, broiler oven, deep-fat fryer, microwave oven, slow cooker, toaster oven, rotisserie, electric frying pan, and electric steamer. It offers eight cooking methods: broiling, grilling, roasting, reheating, barbecuing, dry frying without oil, baking, broiling without water, and steaming.

Important Safety Instructions:

Before operating the convection oven, users must read all instructions. Always switch off the power before removing the plug from the wall outlet, grasping the plug itself, not pulling the cord. To prevent electrical shock, the cord, plugs, or motor assembly should not be immersed in water or other liquids. The appliance should be unplugged when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool before putting on or taking off parts. The oven is not designed for outdoor use and should not be placed on or near electrical equipment, hot gas flames, or a heated oven. The cord should not hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces; always use the appliance on a stable, flat surface. Extreme caution is necessary when moving the appliance if it contains hot oil or other hot liquids. The appliance should only be used for its intended purpose.

Avoid extreme temperature changes. Rapid temperature changes (e.g., moving the unit from freezing temperatures to a warm room) can cause condensation inside the unit, leading to malfunction when switched on. In such cases, leave the unit at room temperature for at least 1.5 hours before switching it on. If the unit has been in transit, leave it indoors for at least 1.5 hours before starting operation.

The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning its use by a person responsible for their safety. Do not immerse the top unit in any liquids. All surfaces of the oven get very hot; touching these surfaces before the oven cools may cause a burn. Only touch the handles until the oven has cooled. The service life is 4 years, and the shelf life before putting into operation is unlimited.

Operation Steps:

  1. Place the steel racks into the container, then add the food, ensuring there is some space between the food and the oven lid.
  2. Insert the oven plug according to the power specification. Do not share the same plug-set with other electrical appliances.
  3. Turn the timer clockwise to the required time; the red lamp will light up.
  4. Set the temperature controller clockwise to the required temperature; the green light will turn on, and the convection will start working.
  5. The green lamp may turn off before the set time, indicating that the oven has reached the set temperature. When the oven's temperature drops below the set point, the oven will automatically turn the heater on, and the green lamp will illuminate to indicate the heating process.

Outstanding Features:

  • WASH Function: To operate the built-in WASH function, simply press the corresponding button. The WASH time is set manually. Remember to let the oven cool for 10 minutes before washing.
  • Safety Note: If the oven is opened midway through the cooking process, the heating element will switch off. To continue cooking, lower the oven's head to the closed position.
  • Completion Alert: When the cooking process has finished, the oven will beep once and flash its timer lights. Food can be removed at any time, but be careful as it and the surrounding surfaces may be extremely hot. Always use the tongs provided.

ORDER PROCESS (Delay Start Function):

The "APPOINT" function allows you to delay the start of the cooking time.

  1. First, choose the delay temperature by pressing "TEMP" to the required cooking temperature.
  2. Secondly, set the cooking time by pressing "UP" or "DOWN" (1 minute to 3 hours).
  3. Press the "APPOINT" button once; the light will flash. Input the expected time for the oven to start (10 minutes to 19 hours and 50 minutes).
  4. Once all information has been entered, press the "CONFIRM" button.
  5. The time (Delay Time) will be displayed, and the indicator light of "TIME" will be on, and the delay time will begin to count down. The oven will turn on when it counts down to the cooking time.
  • Caution: Care must be taken when using this feature to avoid creating a health hazard by placing food that will spoil during the delay time (e.g., fresh chicken and other meats should NEVER be left at room temperature for more than a few minutes) to prevent food poisoning and bacterial growth.

Before You Begin Cooking (Preparing Your Convection Oven):

The Convection Oven should be heated once before cooking with it. When preparing the oven according to the instructions, it may give off a slight burning odor. This is normal, as the oven is burning off excess lubricants found in the heating elements. This will not harm your food or the oven.

Easy Steps for First Use:

  1. Wipe the inside of the bowl with a clean, damp sponge.
  2. Place racks in the bowl – do not leave tongs in the hot bowl.
  3. Close the lid on the bowl.
  4. Set the timer to approximately 10 minutes.
  5. Set the thermostat to 200°C and turn the oven on.
  6. After the timer has shut the oven off, allow it to cool for 10 minutes. You can then open the lid. Your convection oven is now ready to cook your first meal!

How to Operate the Convection Oven:

  1. Place the wire rack in the bowl of the oven.
  2. Always use the high rack available for the food being cooked. The more air circulating around the food, the faster it will cook.
  3. Place food directly on the rack, unless otherwise specified.
  4. Place the lid on the oven in the recessed lip of the bowl.
  5. Set the thermostat to the required temperature.
  6. Set the timer.
  • Note: Use the highest-level rack appropriate for the food being cooked unless otherwise noted.

Cleaning Your Oven:

Light Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the oven and let it cool.
  2. Use a clean sponge or dishcloth with a little mild dishwashing detergent and warm water to wipe the bowl clean.
  3. Rinse well to remove all detergent. Wipe dry.
  • Note: Never immerse the lid in any liquid.

Normal Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the oven and let it cool.
  2. Wipe the lid and fan housing using a damp, clean dishcloth or sponge with a little mild dishwashing detergent.
  3. Do not clean with steel wool pads or abrasive materials.
  4. Wash wire racks in mild dishwashing detergent and water.
  5. Clean metal parts using a sponge or dishcloth with mild dishwashing detergent, then wipe clean. If scrubbing is necessary, use a nylon or polyester mesh pad or a brush. For very "burnt on" stains, use stainless steel or other metal scourers. A thick "tub" style paste cleaner is recommended for stubborn stains.

Dishwasher Safe Bowl:

The bowl and wire racks may also be washed in the dishwasher. However, never wash the lid in a dishwasher or immerse it in liquid. Remove the bowl from its stand before dishwashing.

  • Note: Dishwashing will eventually damage the chrome on the wire racks and dull the finish.

Remember for Cleaning:

  • Unplug the oven before cleaning the lid.
  • Remove fat to rubbish before washing.
  • Let the oven cool down a little before washing.
  • Never immerse the lid in water.
  • Use hot water and detergent for 15 minutes for pre-wash.
  • Do not add water above halfway up the bowl when self-washing.
  • Do not let the fan assembly get wet.
  • Never leave the lid on the cooker after it switches off, either with food in it or with water in it. Doing so will eventually cause rusting of metal parts in the lid. This will NOT be covered by warranty, as you are expected to take normal, good, sensible care of your cooker and keep it clean and dry after cooking and/or washing.

Cooking Methods:

  • How to Broil: Place food directly on the wire rack (low or high rack). For very thick cuts of meat, turn the food at the halfway point. Broiling time may vary depending on cut, size, amount of fat, etc.
  • How to Steam: Steam vegetables at the same time as your main dish by placing them in an aluminum foil pouch with a few drops of water and sealing the pouch. You can also add a cup of water in the bottom pot with savory herbs and spices to steam fish or vegetables, but use just a little water.
  • How to Fry (Dry Fry): Achieve the effect of deep-fat French fries without all the oil by dipping potato strips in polyunsaturated cooking oil, allowing excess oil to drain, and cooking according to the guide. For delicious fried chicken, dip chicken pieces in batter and then in cooking oil, drain excess oil, and cook according to the chart.
  • How to Toast: Get perfectly toasted bread and snacks without pre-heating. Simply put the food directly on the wire rack and watch it toast. It will be crisp on the outside and stay soft on the inside. Improve stale snack food like crackers, chips, and cookies by placing them in the oven for a few minutes at maximum temperature to bring back their crunchiness.
  • How to Defrost: Use the oven to defrost frozen food more evenly than a microwave oven by setting the temperature at 100°C and checking the food every 5-10 minutes.

General Guidelines and Warning:

  • Distribute food evenly in the oven to ensure an even flow of air all around the food.
  • The first time you try a recipe, check the cooking process through the tempered glass bowl as the cooking time of the oven is short.
  • Since it is practical to place food directly on the wire rack, you may want to spray it with a non-stick spray to avoid sticking.
  • The oven is self-cleaning. Simply put some water in the bottom and set the temperature at 100°C for 10-12 minutes.
