Overview

The Scala Electronic Lice Comb SC 04 is a non-medical device designed to eliminate adult head lice through a small electrical charge. It is intended for use on children by adults only.

Function Description

The Electronic Lice Comb SC 04 operates by transmitting a small electrical charge to its metal comb. When the comb is passed through dry hair, this charge kills adult lice. The device features an alert LED that illuminates red when a louse is detected, killed, and caught in the comb. After detection, the louse can be removed using the included mini brush. It's important to note that the device does not kill lice eggs, and some eggs may remain attached to the hair follicle. For complete eradication, it is recommended to repeat combing treatments every 2-3 days for a period of 16 days.

The device has a three-stage power slide switch:

  • 1st stage (Power Off): The switch is pushed backward to turn off the device.
  • 2nd stage (Power On): Pushing the switch forward to the second position turns on the lice comb. The alert LED will show a green light. If the battery power is low, the alert LED will show red for five seconds and then turn off.
  • 3rd stage (Power on & LED light on): Pushing the switch further forward to the third position activates both the lice comb and the LED spotlight.

To use the device:

  1. Remove the head cover.

  3. Hold the comb at a 45-degree angle, with the ON button facing towards the user. Begin combing the hair with the metal comb near the roots. The LED spotlight is useful for seeing lice in low-light conditions or on dark hair.
  4. When a louse is trapped and killed, the alert LED will turn red.
  5. Stop combing, remove the louse from the metal comb using the mini brush. Once the louse is cleared, the alert LED will turn green, indicating the comb is ready for further use.
