Contactors CT/CU Series – Installation and Maintenance Instructions
NOTICE
Detent-edged rings and detent-edged washers have
a limited life time. After 3 times opening of screws
secured with detent-edged rings or detent-edged
washers, the rings or washers must be replaced by
new ones.

Record the frequency of screw opening in the
work log.
X
After 3 times opening of screws, replace detent-
edged rings or detent-edged washers by new
ones.
Regular check activities
All of the maintenance activities that may be carried out
on the contactors by skilled personnel are listed below.
Component Visual inspection Measures
High voltage power
supply cables or bus-
bars
Check for:
X
dirt
X
damage or wear and tear
X
broken cables
X
damaged insulation
X
broken cable lugs
X
kinks or crushing points
X
loose or missing fastening elements
X
tightening torque of the xing screws
In case of faults:
X
remove existent dirt
X
immediately replace damaged parts
X
thighten the xing screws with the
rated torque
Earthing cables/
straps and cable lugs
X
dirt
X
damage or wear and tear
X
broken cables
X
damaged insulation
X
broken cable lugs
X
loose or missing fastening elements
X
tightening torque of the xing screws
In case of faults:
X
remove existent dirt
X
immediately replace damaged parts
X
immediately replace a damaged or
loose earthing cable/strap
X
thighten the xing screws with the
rated torque
Contactor housing Check for:
X
dirt
X
damage or wear and tear
X
loose or missing fastening elements
In case of faults:
X
remove existent dirt
X
immediately replace damaged parts
X
immediately replace missing fasten-
ing elements
X
immediately fasten a loose contactor
housing
Protection caps for
the auxiliary switches
and coil terminal
X
dirt
X
damage or wear and tear
X
cracks and ruptured patches
X
missing protection caps
X
loose or missing fastening elements
In case of faults:
X
remove existent dirt
X
immediately replace damaged pro-
tection caps
X
immediately replace missing protec-
tion caps
X
immediately replace missing fasten-
ing elements
X
immediately fasten a loose protec-
tion cap
