Warning! Never install the product over water (e.g. pools,
paddling pools, rivers, lakes, etc.). Danger of drowning.
Choose stable anchor points. The anchor strength must be at
least 14.200N (approx. 1,420kg per attachment point).
If you choose trees as anchor points, they must have a
circumference of at least 100cm (Ø 30cm) at the level of the
attachment height. Trees must be completely healthy,
not damaged, infested or diseased. If you have any doubts
about the suitability of the trees, seek advice from a
professional.
Perforating fasteners (nails, dowels, tree screws, screw hooks,
etc.) may not be used.
If you use a tree as an anchor point, it must be protected from damage. Always use a suitable tree protector (e.g. 970702
Schildkröt Tree Protector - sold separately). The pressure on the bark must be spread in such a way that the contact width of
the Jungle Line strap is at least 10cm for a circumference of 100 cm (fig. 1+2).
If you choose a pole construction, the construction must withstand an anchor strength of at least 14.200N (approx. 1,420 kg)
at both attachment points.
Assembly of the slackline system:
Lay the slackline in front of you.
The Schildkröt Slackline logo
print must point upwards.
Step 1: Thread the ratchet cover
onto the webbing sling with
ratchet (=fixed end) (fig. 1).
Step 2: Loop the fixed end around
a tree and pull the ratchet
through the reinforced loop end
(fig. 2). Take care that the webbing
will not be twisted.
Step 3: Loop the slackline
(lose end) around the other tree
and pull the complete slack flatly
through the reinforced loop
(fig. 3+4). Take care that the
webbing will not be twisted.
Step 4: Now thread the lose end
of the slackline through the slot on
the ratchet and pull the slack all the
way through the ratchet (fig. 5).
Again, take care that the webbing
will not be twisted. Before using
the ratchet, the slackline must be
pulledflat by hand (= pretensioning).
Tip: Ask a second person to help
you! The ratchet must face
downwards to the ground.
Use the ratchet by moving its
handle back and forth (fig. 6).
The tension is sufficient when you
are not able to tighten the handle
on the ratchet with a maximum
ratchet force of approximately 400N.
The slackline can’t be tightened
anymore, and the handle of the ratchet is fixed.
Warning! Tension the slackline by hand only.
After the tightening process, the ratchet must audibly and securely snap into its end position (fig. 7).
Warning! The ratchet must lie under the slackline and must be covered with the ratchet cover
to protect against catching, pinching or shearing points. Roll up overhanging webbing and
cover with the ratchet protection (fig. 8+9+10).
Follow the same steps for the teaching line. The teaching line must be installed approx.
1.50 - 2m above the slackline.
The height depends on the size of the user holding onto the teaching line. Make sure that the
teaching line is always installed above head height. Strangulation hazard.
The first steps on the slackline:
Beginners should take care to install the slackline in a short (and therefore more stable) distance between two trees or posts.
The height should not be higher than 50 cm.
The tighter the slackline system is tensioned, the more stable the slackline is. Beginners should practice balancing on a tight
slackline with little sag. The tension can be adjusted at any time afterwards.
The use of the teaching line is recommended in the beginning. Grasp the teaching line with both hands while stepping onto
the slackline with your feet. Try to keep your elbows aloft your ears. Keep your eyes on the slackline. This will help to keep
your balance.
The movement on the slackline should be as fluent as possible.
As soon as you feel safe on the slackline, try balancing while holding the teaching line with just one hand. In the second step,
try to release the teaching line completely.
Loosen the ratchet:
Warning! Risk of crushing. Wear gloves.
Step 1: To release the ratchet, pull and hold the safety lever
(vinyl coated lever) and then loosen the handle until it stops.
You should hear a "pop" sound (fig. 1).
Step 2: The lock should open and expose the spool.
The tension should draw back noisily when the slackline will be
released.
Step 3: Pull at the slackline strap until there is only little tension.
Pull out the complete loose end of the ratchet.
Warning! If the slackline has been stretched too tight, it might
be difficult to release it. Hold the ratchet in a completely flat
position to unlock.
If the ratchet will not lay flat, try pulling the safety lever and ratchet handle into opposite directions at the same time (fig.2).
If necessary, ask another person to loosen the slackline while holding the ratchet open.
Storage and maintenance:
Store the product out of the reach of children at a dry and dark place. Protect the product from direct sunlight and other heat
sources. This affects the lifetime and makes the material aging faster. To prolong the lifetime, the product should be
disassembled when not in use. The slackline must be inspected and maintained for damage, wear and tear (fraying,
alterations to the webbing, breaks, cuts, damaged stitching, deformation, etc.) before and after each use. Oil all moving parts
of the ratchet regularly. Replace defective parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Neglected inspection and
maintenance can lead to serious injury by material failure. Only clean the product with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents,
water only.
Disposal:
Bring the packaging and the product to a return and collection system at the end of its lifetime. You can obtain information
on this from your local waste disposal company.

Assembly by adults only. This product must be unpacked and installed by an adult. This also includes the
selection of a suitable location.
Outdoor use only.
Never leave slackline systems unattended in public areas.
This product is sports equipment and is exclusively designed for private use.
Only use the product as described in the instructions. Make sure that the instructions in the user manual are followed.
The slackline system may only be used by one person at the same time. Maximum user weight: 150kg.
Before using the slackline system, examine it for damage and wear.
Do not make any modifications to the original product. Never modify the slackline by lengthening or knotting it.
Only use the slackline system on even ground that is free of any objects and other obstacles (rocks, branches, exposed roots,
bushes). There is a risk of serious injury otherwise.
Make sure that no one walks in front of, behind or in between the slackline course. Please keep sufficient distance (at least
200cm) to other structures and obstacles around (e.g. trees, overhanging branches, fences, washing lines, garage, house
walls, electrical lines) to avoid collisions.
The distance from the ground to the unloaded slackline must not exceed 50cm. Tip: Set the height of the slackline just
slightly above knee height of the smallest user.
This slackline is not designed for tricks, jumps or acrobatics. This increases the stress on the material and can lead to serious
injuries.
Tie up long hair. Do not wear loose clothing, hoods or cords, scarves, belts, capes, ponchos, etc. Risk of strangulation!
Remove bicycle helmets or other sports helmets before using the slackline. Do not use the slackline during wet conditions,
rain, high winds, thunderstorms or other extreme weather conditions.
Only assemble the slackline system during daylight. Disassemble the slackline system if you are not going to use it for a long
time. Always disassemble the slackline system before nightfall. Never leave the slackline system unattended.
Selection of location:
Take special care when selecting the location. Install the slackline system over an even surface and at least 200cm away from
other structures or obstacles, e.g. fence, garage, house, overhanging branches, clothes lines or electrical lines.
Do not install the slackline system over hard surfaces (e.g. concrete, asphalt). It is recommended to cover the ground under
slackline system with suitable cushioning materials. Check the condition of the underground regularly and loosen or fill it up
again if necessary.
