What to do if my Sea-doo Sportster 5895 engine does not turn over?

If your Sea-doo Boat engine isn't turning over, there are several potential causes. It could be due to loose battery connections (turn to ON and check), a worn or removed safety lanyard cap (replace or reinstall it), a defective start/stop button (check it), a burnt 5A fuse (check the wiring and replace the fuse), a discharged battery (check and recharge it), or an ignition switch that isn't turned on or is defective (check, clean, and tighten it). Also consider water/fuel hydrolock, a problem with the starter or solenoid, a seized engine or jet pump, or a jammed pump. Check and clean out any debris.

Why does my Sea-doo Sportster 5895 engine slowly turn?

If your Sea-doo Boat engine is turning slowly, the issue could stem from a discharged or weak battery (check, charge, or replace it), loose battery connections (check and tighten them), a restriction in the jet pump (check and clean the pump), or partial engine hydrolock. Another possibility is a partial engine seizure (check compression). A worn starter could also be to blame. Check the wear ring installation. It could also be a seizure in the jet pump or a seal carrier seizure.
