HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
Handbrake
To apply the handbrake pull lever up
firmly. On hills the 1st gear or with auto-
matic gearbox the parking lock should
also be engaged. The handbrake should
always be applied so firmly that it is not
possible to drive inadvertently with the
handbrake on.
When handbrake is applied with the igni-
tion on, the brake warning lamp comes
on.
To release handbrake, pull lever up
slightly, press locking knob (arrow) in and
push lever right down.

brake ffirmly aafter tthe vvehicle hhas
come tto aa ccomplete sstop.
You sshould aalso pput tthe ccar iinto

selector llever iin pposition ““P”
(automatic ggearbox).

Please nnote tthat tthe hhandbrake
must bbe rreleased ccompletely aafter
application. IIf tthe hhandbrake iis
only ppartly rreleased iit ccould llead
to ooverheating oof tthe bbrakes aand
thus nnegatively aaffect tthe ffunction
of tthe bbrake ssystem. TThis ccould
also llead tto ppremature rrear bbrake
lining wwear.
