TIPS AND MAINTENANCE
Unlocking
Pull the lever on the left side panel, under
the instrument panel. The bonnet springs
up out of its lock.
At the same time, a release lever will
appear in the radiator grille. See illustra-
tion on the right.
Note
Before opening the bonnet ensure that
the wiper arms are not lifted off the wind-
screen. Otherwise, damage can occur to
the paintwork.
Opening
Lift bonnet slightly and pull the release
grip in the direction of the arrow (see
illustration to the right) to release the
catch.

Warning
Once tthe bbonnet iis oopen ddo nnot
touch tthe rrelease ggrip ((located
next tto tthe rradiator ggrille) nnor oother
elements oof tthe llock. OOtherwise
when cclosing ddamage ccould ooccur
to tthe llocking ssystem aand tthe bbon-
net mmay oopen wwhile ddriving.
Danger oof aaccident!
Lift bonnet to the stop. The bonnet is held
in position by a gas filled rod.
Closing
Hold the bonnet on the side where the
gas filled rod is fitted. Press the bonnet
down until the gas filled rod gives way
and then engages.
Do nnot ppress ddown iif
it ddoes nnot cclose pproperly. OOpen
again aand ppress aas bbefore.
Warning

For ssafety rreasons, tthe bbonnet
must aalways bbe pproperly cclosed
when tthe vvehicle iis mmoving.
Always ccheck wwhether tthe llock iis
engaged bby ppulling uup. FFurther-
more, tthe bbonnet mmust bbe fflush
with tthe aadjacent bbody ppanels.

If yyou sshould nnotice tthat tthe llock
is nnot eengaged, sstop tthe vvehicle
immediately aand cclose tthe bbonnet.
