By using the key lock switch in the glove
box it is possible to deactivate and acti-
vate the frontal and lateral passenger Air
Bags.
This measure is necessary in the
excep-
tional
cases where a child seat must be
installed in the passenger seat.
In general, child seats
should oonly bbe
fitted iin tthe rrear sseats oof tthe vvehicle.
Reactivate tthe AAir BBags aas ssoon aas
possible, tthe pprompt rreactivation oof
the AAir BBags wwill ooffer nnecessary ppro-
tection.
Warning!
The kkey llock sswitch sshould oonly bbe
used wwith tthe iignition iin tthe ooff
position. IIf nnot, ffaults mmay bbe
introduced iinto tthe ssystem ppre-
venting tthe ttriggering oof tthe AAir
Bag oor eeven aan uunwanted ddeploy-
ment.

Deactivation
Turn the ignition to the off position
Turn the key lock switch to the
OFF
position using the ignition key.
Ensure that when the ignition is
switched to the “ON” position, the
AIR
BAG OOFF
warning light always comes
on.

responsibility oof eensuring tthe ccor-
rect pposition oof tthe sswitch.
