How to reduce fire hazard
•Donotleaveammablematerialsexposed.
•Open res (e.g. replaces and ovens) are particular
safety hazards. Use a metal grille to protect yourself
from flying sparks. Use a fire-resistant glass floor plate
if there is wooden flooring or carpets. Clean chimneys
regularly. Never dispose of hot ash in the dustbin.
•Keepacloseeyeonthepowersupply.Overloadingof
cables will generate an uncontrollable build-up of heat
in the walls of the building.
•Educate your children about re and the dangers it
poses. “Playing with fire” has often been the cause of
open, uncontrollable house fires.
•Ensurethatyourheatingsystemisservicedregularly.
•Onlyuseapprovedandcertiedproducts.
•Donotsmokeinbed.
