Overview

This document is an instruction guide and 2-year guarantee for a Sekonda watch, detailing its functions, specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Sekonda watch is a dual-time timepiece with a date display. It features a main time display with hour, minute, and second hands, and a dual time display with separate hour hands for 12-hour and 24-hour formats, along with a dual time minute hand. The watch allows for independent setting of the main time, date, and dual time.

Important Technical Specifications

The watch is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

Water Resistance:

The watch's water resistance is indicated on the dial and/or case back.

  • Water Resistant or Resistant to 30 Metres: Suitable for normal everyday use, resisting splashes and rain. Not designed for bathing or swimming.
  • Water Resistant to 50 Metres: As 30 metres, plus bathing or swimming.
  • Water Resistant to 100 Metres: As 50 metres, plus poolside diving and snorkeling. Not suitable for high board diving or scuba diving.
  • Water Resistant to 200 Metres: As 100 metres, plus scuba diving. Not suitable for high board diving. If the watch is not marked as water resistant, it should not come into contact with water or be worn in moist conditions. Buttons must not be operated while in contact with water. To maintain water resistance, annual servicing and re-sealing by T.P. (UK) Ltd. is recommended.

Usage Features

Setting the Main Time:

  1. Pull the crown out to position '2' when the second hand reaches the 12 o'clock position (pointing straight up).
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or anti-clockwise to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Push the crown back into the starting position. Important Note: Ensure AM/PM is set correctly; the date change indicates midnight.

Setting the Date:

  1. Pull the crown out to position '1'.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise until the desired date is shown.
  3. Push the crown back into the starting position. Important Note: Do not attempt to set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as the date cycle is in progress and may cause incorrect changes. If setting is needed during this period, first change the time to outside this window, then set the date, and finally re-set the time.

Re-aligning the Dual Time Hands:

This procedure is for correcting misalignment of the dual time hands and should be performed before setting the dual time.

  1. Pull the crown out to position '2'.
  2. Press and hold buttons 'A' and 'B' simultaneously for more than 2 seconds, then release. Both the 24-hour hand and the dual time minutes hand will rotate and then return to their starting positions.
  3. Press button 'A' repeatedly until the 24-hour hand reaches the 24 position (pointing straight up).
  4. Press and hold button 'A' to quickly turn the 24-hour hand.
  5. Press and hold button 'B' to turn the 12-hour hand until it reaches the 12 position (pointing straight up). Both the 12-hour hand and the dual time minutes hand will turn at the same time during this step.
  6. Push the crown back into the normal position. Important Note: Repeat these steps if the dual time minutes hand rotates one whole time without prompt at 15, 30, 45, or 60 positions.

Setting the Dual Time:

This allows adjustment of the dual time hands to show the local time in a different time zone.

Dual Time Hour Setting:

  1. Start with the crown at the normal position.
  2. Adjust both the dual time 12-hour and 24-hour hands by pressing button 'A' (-1 hour) or button 'B' (+1 hour) until the desired hour is shown. Note: Each press of button 'A' or 'B' will cause the dual time minutes hand to rotate 4 whole times; this is a normal function.

Dual Time Minute Setting:

  1. Pull the crown out to position '2' when the second hand reaches the 12 o'clock position (pointing straight up).
  2. Adjust the dual time minutes hand by pressing button 'A' (-1 minute) or button 'B' (+1 minute) until the desired time is shown. Note: The dual time minutes hand will rotate 1 whole time for every 15 minutes added or subtracted. The 12-hour and 24-hour dual time hands may also rotate accordingly. These are normal functions.
  3. Push the crown back into the normal position.
