Overview

The Sencor SRM 0600WH is a fully automatic rice cooker designed for domestic use, offering convenient and efficient rice preparation. It is suitable for various settings, including staff kitchens, offices, hotel rooms, and bed and breakfast establishments.

Function Description:

The primary function of this appliance is to cook rice and then keep it warm for an extended period. It operates automatically, switching from the "COOK" mode to the "KEEP WARM" mode once the rice is cooked. The cooking process typically takes about 30 minutes, after which the "KEEP WARM" mode can maintain the rice's temperature for up to 6 hours. The device features a simple switch to toggle between these two modes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Nominal Voltage Range: 220-240 V
  • Nominal Frequency: 50/60 Hz
  • Rated Power Input: 300 W
  • Capacity: 420 g of uncooked rice + 0.6 L water (maximum)

Usage Features:

The rice cooker is designed for straightforward operation.

  1. Preparation: Before first use, the removable bowl, lid, measuring cup, and stirring spoon should be washed in warm water with dishwashing detergent, rinsed, and thoroughly dried.
  2. Rice and Water Measurement: Users should measure the desired amount of rice using the supplied measuring cup. A maximum of 3 level measuring cups of rice can be cooked in a single batch. The manual provides a table for recommended rice-to-water ratios:
    • 1 measuring cup of rice: 200 ml of water
    • 2 measuring cups of rice: 400 ml of water
    • 3 measuring cups of rice: 600 ml of water It's important not to exceed the 0.6 L water level mark on the inside wall of the removable bowl to prevent boiling water from spraying out.
  3. Assembly: After rinsing the rice, it should be transferred to the inner removable bowl and spread evenly. The bowl is then inserted into the outer pot and covered with the glass lid.
  4. Operation: The power cord is connected to the appliance and then to an electrical power socket. Upon connection, the "KEEP WARM" mode automatically activates, indicated by the "KEEP WARM" indicator light. To begin cooking, the switch is slid downwards to activate the "COOK" mode, indicated by the "COOK" indicator light. The switch should not be moved back to the upper position while rice is cooking.
  5. Automatic Switching: Once cooking is complete (approximately 30 minutes), the appliance automatically switches to "KEEP WARM" mode.
  6. Serving: When serving, the lid should be carefully lifted, and the rice stirred gently with the provided stirring spoon. Metal kitchen utensils should be avoided to prevent damaging the non-stick finish of the removable bowl.
  7. Post-Cooking: For optimal flavor, it is recommended to allow the rice to finish cooking in "KEEP WARM" mode for 10 to 20 minutes. However, to maintain flavor, rice should not be kept warm for longer than 3 hours, as it may dry out. The rice cooker will turn off automatically after 6 hours in "KEEP WARM" mode.
  8. Power Off: After use, the appliance should be turned off by moving the power switch to position 0 (off) and disconnected from the power socket if not in use.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning is essential for the appliance's longevity and hygiene.

  1. Cooling and Disconnection: Always ensure the power cord is disconnected and the rice cooker has cooled down before cleaning.
  2. Removable Parts: The removable bowl, lid, measuring cup, and stirring spoon should be washed in warm water with dishwashing detergent, rinsed under running water, and thoroughly dried.
  3. Non-Dishwasher Safe: The removable bowl is not dishwasher safe.
  4. Outer Pot: The outer pot should be cleaned using a lightly damp cloth and then wiped dry. Abrasive cleaning products, steel wool, petrol, or solvents should not be used.
  5. Electrical Safety: To prevent electrical shock, the outer pot or power cord should not be cleaned under running water or submerged in water or any other liquid.
  6. Storage: The assembled rice cooker should be stored in a dry, clean place, out of reach of children.
